The Nairobi Declaration on Sustainable Insurance

GN Reinsurance Co. Ltd. has become the newest signatory to The Nairobi Declaration on Sustainable Insurance. This is what the CEO, Joseph Kusi-Tieku had to say about resilience, inclusivity and sustainability:

“Our world is constantly faced with increasing environmental, social and governance (ESG) challenges that tend to hinder the building of a prosperous and peaceful world. As risk managers that have a vested interest in sustainable development, we believe the insurance industry has an important role to play in accelerating sustainable economic and social development.

Like the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), we believe that better management of ESG issues will strengthen the insurance industry’s contribution to building a resilient, inclusive and sustainable society. GN Reinsurance Company is, therefore, happy [to become a part of] the Nairobi Declaration on Sustainable Insurance in Africa in furtherance of this laudable agenda.”
