Matthias Rogers-Akpatah
Mr. Matthias Rogers-Akpatah is a reinsurance executive with over 30 years of experience in reinsurance practice across Africa with specific expertise in the design of reinsurance programmes, reinsurance accounting and claims handling. Matthias holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from GIMPA and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK. He is a former Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Re.
He facilitates various industry seminars on Reinsurance, Fire and Claims in Africa. He lectures at the Ghana Insurance College and is a former part-time lecturer at the Pentecost University. He is a Chief Examiner in Principles and Practice of Reinsurance at the West Africa Insurance Institute (WAII), Gambia. Matthias has written several articles, some of which have won respectable International awards. While in active service, he held several industry positions which included Vice-Chairman of the Accident Offices Association (Ghana) and also Chairman of the Oil & Gas Consortium (Technical Committee) Ghana. Matthias served on the main board of Ghana Re as well as the board of the company’s subsidiary in Cameroun. He is a former Director of Unique Life and currently serves on the Board of Prime Insurance.
